These baskets are inspired by natural forms such as pebbles and boulders and man-made forms especially large scale ceramic vases. I have also been in awe of the work of Henry Moore and Barbara Hepworth since I studied at Bretton Hall and had access to The Yorkshire Sculpture Park . When weaving these baskets I feel as though I am building sculptural forms. I become lost in repetition of the weave and enjoy the fluidity of the willow. You are invited to the Old Brewery Studios Summer Open Day on Saturday 11th July 2020 . 9am- 5pm.We will be selling traditional and contemporary baskets and also a variety of structures for your garden, such as plant climbers, cloches, bird feeders.
